Open call: Get $2000 for 3 minutes of video about election

Alright you armchair cinematographers, film students, and video bloggers out there: it's time to do your part to advance the media arm of the Black Female Agenda!

I was contacted by a representative from WGBH Labs, and they wanted to make my readers aware that they are offering $2000 for differing perspectives on this election season, in the form of 3 minute video shorts. All you have to do is come up with a concept and pitch it... and if it works for them, they will pay you $2000 to create it. Simple! I KNOW some of you have the skills to do something like this... so get out there and make the rest of the queens proud!

Sisters: can we PLEASE get some quality political video of black women that's not set in some hair salon, with closeups of sisters' weave tracks or with the telltale background sounds of sizzling hot combs? Pretty please, for Shecodes' sake?

Here's the info:

This election season, the WGBH Lab and P.O.V. are offering the public a chance to make its voice heard BEFORE the voting booths open: TELL AMERICA YOUR ELECTION STORY on PBS. The WGBH Lab and P.O.V. are seeking pitches for compelling video shorts about the 2008 Election. If selected, producers will get $2000 to make their short, get feedback from industry professionals, and may be broadcast nationally. Help PBS put the "public" back in public broadcasting this election season! DEADLINE FOR PITCHES: May 2nd, 2008 http://lab.wgbh.org/open-call/election2008
